WATCH: Wes Streeting says he will 'absolutely resign' if defence spending is not boosted
Defence Secretary Wes Streeting has told GB News he will "absolutely" resign if Chancellor John Healey fails to bolster Britain's defence spending.
Speaking to host Camilla Tominey, Mr Streeting said: "I believe that we need to invest more in our defence, but I also know that the Chancellor and the Prime Minister share that commitment too, so that was an easy question.
"It was an easy question for me to answer because, of course, before they even took up office as Prime Minister and Chancellor, I've had conversations with Andy Burnham about defence investment and where he stood.
"I had that conversation before I chose to support him to be leader of the Labour Party."
