WATCH: Andy Burnham's 'enormous black hole' in Britain's finances analysed by Olivia Utley

GB News Political Correspondent Olivia Utley discusses Andy Burnham ruling out a snap election and how the PM could benefit from a new manifesto.

Speaking to host Dawn Neesom, Olivia said: "Andy Burnham has an enormous black hole in the country's finances, £5billion on defence alone. Obviously, the global pressures have changed dramatically since 2024, thanks to the war in Iran pushing up our energy prices, and Andy Burnham has made it pretty clear he's not going to reform welfare.

"That would be an easy way of getting money quickly. The only other easy way of getting money quickly, because the Government doesn't seem to have a sort of serious growth agenda at the moment. The only other way to get money quickly is to raise taxes on working people.

"He can't do that because of that manifesto. Will he find that in a few months time, he feels he has to call in a general election to get his own mandate."
