WATCH: Alex Armstrong challenges Lib Dem President on trans policy

Watch the moment GB News host Alex Armstrong challenges Liberal Democrat President Josh Barbarinde on the party's plan to change legislation surrounding single-sex spaces.

Pressing Mr Barbarinde, Alex asked: "Your party has voted to drop rules protecting single-sex spaces, essentially restoring the ability if you are in Government to allow trans people to use a bathroom of their choice.

"Many people are saying today that this is unworkable and that it would be putting women at risk. What do you make of those comments, Josh?"

Mr Barbarinde responded: "Absolutely, we have aired some of the concerns that the office for Equality and Opportunity, the Government's own equality body, have aired about the Equality and Human Rights Commission's guidance.

"And I'm sure you'd be shocked, actually, Alex, to see in there, there are some things that talk about risks of increased violence or discrimination against trans people. I don't think that we should accept that.

"And what we said in our conference hall is that we need to challenge that head on. We don't need to play off different people's rights against each other.

"We're very clear, and no one is under any doubt that we're a party that champions the rights of the individual, and that includes the rights of trans and non-binary people."
