Spain's socialist prime minister calls snap election just weeks after Ceuta migrant invasion

Spain’s socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has called a snap election amid public frustration over migration and a housing affordability crisis.
Although a vote had been scheduled for 2027, Mr Sanchez announced an early election will be held on November 29.
“It is time for Spaniards to decide what future you want,” Sanchez said in a statement at Madrid's Moncloa Palace.
He called on voters to make a choice over Spain’s direction between what he described as a “far-right wave” or a path of “openness, social justice and environmental responsibility”.
