‘Oblivious to his own hatred!’ Maajid Nawaz reacts to Zack Polanski sharing Nigel Farage decapitation post

Maajid Nawaz accused former Green Party leader Zack Polanski of being “oblivious to his own hatred” after he shared a social media post depicting a guillotine alongside a reference to Nigel Farage.

Appearing on GB News, the political commentator was reacting after the Reform UK leader said he would report the post to the police.

Mr Nawaz said the image exposed what he described as the hypocrisy of those who claim to oppose hatred.

“It's typical people that preach love, tolerance and present themselves as anti-hate, and then they do something like this because they are full of hate for the person they're accusing of preaching hate.”

Referring to the image, he said: “It's a guillotine... and the guy's T-shirt says these are making plans for Nigel Farage.

The political commentator argued the post was particularly inappropriate following the recent murder of former MP Ann Widdecombe, which counter-terrorism police have said was a “targeted attack”.

He hit out at the left “accusing the right of being full of hate and racism and xenophobia and so-called Islamophobia while posting something like this”.

“Zack Polanski seems oblivious to his own hatred while condemning hate.”

Reform UK has confirmed to GB News that Mr Polanski has been reported to the Metropolitan Police.

A Green spokesman said: "After attending a public event, Zack accepted a request to collaborate on a post with several images.

"Once this image was brought to his attention he immediately unshared the post. He unequivocally does not support this type of dangerous message."
