King Charles releases major statement on US State Visit after Donald Trump's claim
King Charles will travel to the United States for his scheduled State Visit after Donald Trump faced his third assassination attempt, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
Buckingham Palace released its statement just hours after the US President claimed the royals were still intending to embark on the scheduled trip.
"Following discussions on both sides of the Atlantic through the day, and acting on advice of Government, we can confirm the State Visit by Their Majesties will proceed as planned," Buckingham Palace said.
"The King and Queen are most grateful to all those who have worked at pace to ensure this remains the case and are looking forward to the Visit getting underway tomorrow."
