Karl Turner has Labour whip restored on 'probationary basis' after issuing apology
Karl Turner has been readmitted to the Labour Party, having his whip restored on a “probationary basis”.
The Kingston upon Hull East MP had been sitting as an independent after being tossed out of the party for criticising David Lammy’s now-scuttled plan to ace jury trials.
Labour confirmed that Mr Turner had returned to its benches after apologising to collegues.
The MP said he regretted any “offence I may have caused colleagues” after his falling out with the then-Justice Secretary.
