Donald Trump SACKS chief of staff as US midterm election fallout continues
Donald Trump has sacked Chief of Staff Susie Wiles just days after suffering a humiliating defeat in the United States midterm elections.
The President has appointed long-time Maga loyalist Stephen Miller to the top White House role.
Democrats swept to power across the country this week, capturing both the House and Senate and making major gains in Republican strongholds.
Announcing the major staff reshuffle on Truth Social, Mr Trump described Mr Miller as “one of my most trusted advisors” and said he would begin in the post on Monday.
The US leader said Ms Wiles had “done an outstanding job” and “will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation".
“I want to thank her for her service as Chief of Staff — She has done a great job,” he added.
Mrs Wiles, a veteran Republican strategist, previously served as the senior campaign advisor for President Trump’s stunning political comeback and 2024 election win.
Mr Miller worked as Deputy Chief of Staff under her, helped develop the administration's immigration policies, and wrote speeches for Mr Trump, including his inaugural address and State of the Union speech.

Writing on X, Mrs Wiles said: “Today is my last day as White House Chief of Staff. Serving President Trump in the White House has been the honour of a lifetime.
“I’m so proud to have been a part of what we’ve accomplished together, from securing our border and cutting taxes to strengthening our economy and putting America First.
“More than anything, I’m grateful for the extraordinary people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside.
“While my role may be changing, my commitment to the President and the mission never will,” she said.
