Andy Burnham reaches grim small boat milestone as 400 cross Channel in six dinghies

At least six small boats carrying 400 migrants have crossed into British waters today, GB News can exclusively reveal.

The new wave of arrivals came just hours after 263 crossed on October 29, breaking a two-week dry spell due to torrid conditions in the English Channel.

Almost 9,130 small boat migrants have completed the 21-mile journey since Andy Burnham became Prime Minister in July 2026.

The total number of crossings under Labour now stands at 86,312, which is larger than the population of towns such as Guildford and Grimsby.

Mr Burnham's daily average stands at 89.5, putting him as Britain's third-worst Prime Minister on small boat crossings.

Sir Keir Starmer's record-breaking total tally of 77,183 gave Labour's landslide-winning Prime Minister an average of 103.6, while Liz Truss's 49-day stint in No10 saw 10,397 arrive on British shores.

Rishi Sunak fared better than Mr Burnham in his 619 days as Prime Minister, with 50,637 arrivals equating to 81.8 per day.

Despite fury at Boris Johnson's handling of migration, the 65,784 who crossed under his watch average out at 57.7 per day.

Mr Burnham is also faring worse than both Mr Johnson and Mr Sunak at the same point in their respective premierships.

Only 635 arrived on British shores at the same point when Mr Johnson was Prime Minister, while 9,068 had crossed on Mr Sunak's 102nd day in Downing Street.

However, the ex-Greater Manchester Mayor is witnessing an improvement compared to his Labour predecessor.

Sir Keir's tally at the same point of his premiership was 13,935, making Mr Burnham's 9,129 total a 34 per cent decrease.
